| Chronicle of a family business 1886 – Founding by Josef Werner, leather trade and shoemaker workshop is operated in Kitzbühel Land, Bichlstraße 7. 1948 – Discontinuation of the leather goods trade and concentration on workshop and trade in industrially manufactured. 1957 – Mr. Herbert Etz and wife Margarethe Etz take over the company within the family. 1973 – In addition to Herbert Etz, son Gerhard Etz takes over shares of the newly founded Etz KG Schuhe und Sport. 1973 – New construction 1st stage of the 300 year old business building in Kitzbühel. 1975 – Opening Quick shoe, shoe discount in the same house. 1977 – new construction 2nd stage and completion of the commercial building. 1978 – Ms. Erika Etz takes over the management of the textile fashion department. 1979 – Opening of the sports floor and joining Sport 2000. 1981 – Opening of the Sport 2000 branch in Kirchberg with a focus on “Mountain Sports Special”. 1985 – Expansion of the company in Kitzbühel to more than 400m² currently: shoes, textile fashion, sports, Rent a Sport. 1997 – Opening of a branch in Kitzbühel, Jochbergerstraße. 2000 – Admission of son Alexander Etz to KG, Mr. Herbert Etz retires. 2001 – Expansion of the sports floor by 260m². An average of 29 trained professionals are currently trying to provide their customers with the best possible advice. Of course with 4 members of the Etz family from 3 generations. 2002 – Opening of the ski & bike rental in Going am Wilden Kaiser 2003 – Reorganization of the sports shop in Kirchberg 2004 – Opening of Sporteck in the Biohotel Stanglwirt in Going 2005 – Expansion of the shoe department and reconstruction of the façade in Kitzbühel 2005 – Closing of the sports shop in Going 2006 – Opening of Sport 2000 Etz Proshop in the Sportpark Kitzbühel 2007 – Renovation of the textile department and shoe department 2007 – Facade is completed 2008 – Opening sports boutique in the Hotel Schloß Lebenberg 2009 – Recording of the 3rd son Lucas in the KG 2009 – warehouse expansion, enlargement of the office and staff room 2009 – enlargement and modification of the men’s department 2009 – opening sports boutique in the hotel Kempinski Das Tirol 2009 – Opening of a new branch in Hahnenkammstrasse 2011 – Reconstruction of new warehouse in Kitzbühel 2012 – Opening of sports boutique in GRAND TIROLIA KITZBÜHEL 2013- Opening 1. Head Pro Shop with Franz Klammer and Aksel Lund Svindal 2014- Conversion of the sports department into freeride and outdoor Corner 2015- Opening of the 1st Dachstein Pro Shop 2016- Opening of the Golf Pro Shop at the Kitzbühel Schwarzsee golf course 2016- Opening of the 1st Austrian Brands Store with Löffler and Dachstein 2016- Company handover to Lucas and Alexander Etz | |
